In Memory of Those Who Have Fallen
The Bivouac of the Dead
The muffled drum’s sad roll has beat
The soldier’s last tattoo’
No more on life’s parade shall meet
That brave and fallen few;On Fame’s eternal camping ground
Their silent tents are spread;
But Glory guards with solemn round
The bivouac of the dead.
And while we are reflecting, let us also remember all those DCs who went to jail for “practicing medicine without a license”, because it was their good fight that helped sustain the wonderful Profession that we have today.
