Go Giants. Anyways, off topic I just want people to look at this for themselves. On YouTube put in the search box chiropracticstroke. Click on the video(s) about Kevin Sorbo. He’s the actor that starred in the Hercules series which was kind of fun to watch. I commented about stroke and chiropractic, specifically the 2008 Spine article by Cassidy… well its been all deleted. I wasn’t rude and/or cynical just factual. I hope others will visit the site and comment. This is the ChiropracticStroke group at work. Kevin Sorbo apparently was suffering from an aneurysm at the time he had his neck adjusted. There’s an article that gives a review of what happened in Neurology Now, October/November 2011 Volume 7-Issue 5. Thanks.

Take a look at this article about Kevin Sorbo acting star of the show Hercules.
Hi Karl
The funny thing is this article reviews vertebral artery (VA) damage, and yet never once states that Kevin’s stroke was actually caused by VA damage. No doctor ever discussed any special study finding that “A-Ha!” that’s what caused his stroke. It jumps from aneurrsm, to an adjustment, to a discussion about VA risk, but nothing about Kevin actually having VA damage, or that the adjustment can actually be shown to be the causative event. I’d love to see Kevin’s blood workups, specifically his homocysteine (HCy) levels. High HCy is regularly found in those who have vascular disease, and vascular disease is the major cause of strokes.

This is great. Chiropractic care is so essential to everyones performance. The more people see this in the mainstream the more people that will utilize our services. The culture for our services has never been better and it will continue to improve.
@Karl. What is your point with your post? Are you upset that there is a positive article regarding the benefits of chiropractic care? I was not there when Kevin Sorbo had a chiropractic adjusment, but I think I can speak for many when I state that what he experienced is a very rare event. I have heard of similar cases where people had similar symptoms simply turning their head to look in the rear-view mirror in their car. I have heard of similar situations where a people in a salon had an event lying back for a hair wash in a sink. The point is this is a rare thing. If you really want to inform the public of the dangers of treatments I suggest you investigate the deaths from overdoses of opiod pain meds. I think in the end that you’ll find that when you consider the risks of other pain management choices you’ll find that spinal manipulation performed by DC’s, PT’s, and DO’s is actually a much safer choice when you consider the alternatives.
I am glad to see a mainstream video showing chiropractors in a positive light. During school in early 2000, I completed an internship under Dr. Nick Athens, team chiropractor to the San Francisco 49ers and Giants. I learned first hand the power of chiropractic care with athletes. He was the first to have this media coverage when he adjusted Rodger Craig’s ankle in the super bowl. It has been 15 years or so from that date and the media continues to pretend like chiropractic is new with athletes. Hopefully this media coverage will continue to give our profession the publicity it deserves going forward.
@Jason. Not sure if I’m being understood. I’m all about positive article(s) regarding chiropractic. I just wanted to share this article I came across. I also went on to YouTube and listened to Sorbo and a neurologist. I tried to comment about the Cassidy study in the comment section of the video but my comments were deleted. Why? because the ChiropracticStroke group didn’t like my factual comments. I encourage people to listen to the YouTube video under chiropractic stroke/Sorbo. Thanks for the article link Frank. I appreciate it.
Thanks for sharing those 7 essentials, Chiropractic Care have tons of advantages..
