Today The Guardian reports that one in four chiropractors in Britain are under investigation as a result of a campaign by Singh supporters.
As the British Chiropractic Association’s battle with Simon Singh continues to work its way through the legal system, chiropractors are counting the financial costs of a major backlash resulting from a libel action that has left the Lord Chief Justice “baffled”. What was originally a dispute between the BCA and one science writer over free speech has become a campaign to reform an entire industry.
The article claims that one in four chiropractors in Britain are now under investigation for allegedly making misleading claims in advertisements, according to figures from the General Chiropractic Council.
What an absolute hatchet job the folks in England are doing on Chiropractic. I am unsure if you saw the article written by an M.D. in one of their daily tabloids, but it was full of pure opinion and admitted bias.
When something like this picks up as much steam as it has, I truly wonder if it is a calculated move by the medical establishment. Not talking conspiracy, just talking about a business and market share decision on the part of the BMA.
Very sad.
Simon is a scientist and his opinions reflect his scientific beliefs. We need to remember that scientists change their minds – scientists once believed the world was flat. I have four children, aged 11-27, who have never had drugs or vaccinations. These children have had Chiropractic Care since the day they were born and still receive regular Chiropractic Care. My children and my patient’s children are healthier than their peers. That is all the evidence I need.
